Classic Pesto

When it comes to pesto I have to call myself lucky. I’ve been fortunate to have tasted some of the best pesto out there. I may be biased but I have to say that my mama’s pesto recipe is by far the best one I have ever tasted. This is so true in fact I have had friends tell me they can’t wait to come back to my house just so I could make them a meal using the delicious stuff! Personally, I like my pesto very garlicy- is that a word? This pesto definitely delivers that garlic punch. With 4 cloves pack in you may want to have a toothbrush on hand.. or not. Your call, I don’t judge.


  • 2 Cups fresh basil
  • 1/4 Cup pine nuts
  • 1.5 Cups olive oil
  • 1/2 Cup Parmesan
  • 1/2 Cup Romano
  • 4 Cloves of garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Food processor


Put garlic, pine nuts, cheese and 1/2 cup olive oil in the food processor. Turn on machine and slowly drizzle in remaining olive oil until the consistency of your liking.
